Palčići is the first association in Croatia established with the aim of raising awareness and providing long-term support and care for prematurely born children and their parents.
In Croatia, approximately 2500 children are born prematurely each year and public awareness of the problems and complications these preterm infants and their parents face daily is extremely low.
Preterm infants are particularly vulnerable in the period immediately after birth and during early development, hićah poses numerous challenges for their parents and healthcare professionals. Additionally, a study conducted by the Croatian Society for Perinatal Medicine in 2010. has shown that the medical equipment available in relevant medical institutions is either insufficient or outdated.
The goal of the humanitarian campaign “Palčić Gore!” is to raise funds for incubators and additional medical equipment to care for the youngest citizens of Croatia who, in the first days of their lives, embark on an unfair struggle.
